In order to ensure the quality of the end product, there needs to be a combination of front-end flavor development and back-end production consistency. All of our products are crafted with the consumer in mind. We value a full flavor and smoothness that you won't find elsewhere in other spirits.
How It's Made
To Chris Richeson, owner and gold-medal-winning distiller at Chesapeake Bay Distillery, craft spirit distilling isn’t just a matter of achieving a certain flavor profile or bottling in micro-batches – it’s about the entire chain of quality control that yields a superior product. Chris believes that you need to begin with the end product in mind, then use your skills to create a process and production method that will produce that spirit. He will tell you that in order to ensure the quality of the end product, there needs to be a combination of front-end flavor development and back-end production consistency.
Anyone can claim to make a craft spirit, but few can claim to have the necessary combination of dedication, vision, and process that leads to a superbly consistent end result. As a Master Distiller, Chris has married art and science to create craft spirits that always offer the same award-winning flavors.
Ghost Pepper Infused Vodka

Tequila with Smoked Ghost Pepper

Weber Blue Agave from Jalisco, Mexico is used for this tequila.

Smoked ghost peppers (Bhut Jolokia) are dried and soaked in 80 proof blue agave tequila for the infused concentrate. The concentrate is then added back into a batch of tequila.

Dr. Stoner’s Hierba Loca Tequila

The Tequila base is made from Highlands Weber Blue Agave imported from Jalisco Mexico.

This high-altitude agave takes 8-12 years to grow and gives the tequila a big bold floral fruity agave flavor as opposed to the earthy flavor of valley grown agave taking only 4 years to grow.

Dr. Stoner’s Hiebra Madura Bourbon Barrel Aged Tequila

Dr. Stoner’s Tequila Hierba Madura is made by maturing our Tequila Hierba Loca in freshly dumped Virginia bourbon barrels.

The agave is caramelized in a stone oven, then infused with Dr. Stoner’s special stash of herbs.

The initial taste and aroma is a silky smooth bourbon flavor. This is followed by the familiar agave flavor, fruity, floral and slightly smoky.
